Troubleshooting Facebook Connection
This article will help you troubleshoot common errors you might run into when connecting your Facebook Page to Statusbrew. It covers why a Page might not appear and how to fix it.
We recommend using a desktop or laptop to follow these steps. 💻
Who Can Connect A Facebook Page?
Connecting a Facebook Page isn't limited by your plan. You can connect a Page on any plan, as long as you have an available profile slot.
To add a profile in Statusbrew, you need Admin access or higher. On Facebook, you need Full access to the Page you're connecting to, or you can use a shared link (more on this below).
Possible Reasons For Page Visibility Issue
If you're not seeing the Page you want to connect in the Facebook connection dialog box or in Statusbrew, one of these is usually the reason:
You don't have Full access to the Page on Facebook
You have not enabled all the permissions for Statusbrew in Facebook Business Integrations
The Page was added after you last authorized Statusbrew, so Facebook skipped it during the connection
Instagram connects to Statusbrew through your Facebook Page, so if your Facebook access or permissions are wrong, your Instagram account won't appear either.
What Access Do You Need On The Facebook Page?
Statusbrew needs Full access to the Page you want to connect. Full access is the modern equivalent of the old Admin role. It lets you manage the Page, manage who else has access, and delete the Page. Without Full access, the Page may not connect.
How To Check Your Access Level

Go to the People section in your Facebook Business Settings (Meta Business Suite).
Find your name and open your assignments for the Page.
Confirm you have Full access to the Page.
If you don't have Full access, ask the Page Owner or someone with Full access to upgrade you, or to connect the Page for you.
Not able to get Full access, or the client isn't ready to grant it? You can still connect the Page using a shared link. The client connects their own Page through a secure link, and the profile appears in your account without anyone sharing access or login details. See Connect Profile via Shared Link.
You Have Not Enabled All Permissions For Statusbrew
By granting Statusbrew permissions, you allow it to access your Facebook Page data and manage posts, comments, and messages. If any permission is turned off, the Page may not connect.
How To Enable All Permissions For Statusbrew
Go to your Facebook Business Integrations. Switch to your personal profile, not your Facebook page.
Click View and edit beside Statusbrew.
In the dialog that opens, enable all the permissions.
Make sure you enable permissions for every Page you want to connect.
Click Save.
If you don't see a list of Pages here, it means all permissions are already enabled and there's no issue with your permissions.
Statusbrew will never publish anything to your social pages besides the content you publish using Statusbrew yourself. To understand more, see Why Does Statusbrew Need These Permissions?
A Page Is Missing Even Though Access And Permissions Are Correct
If you have Full access and all permissions enabled, but a Page still isn't showing up, the cause is usually a previous Statusbrew authorization that didn't include that Page. When Facebook recognizes that Statusbrew was previously authorized, it skips the Page selection screen, so any Page added after that first connection won't appear automatically.
There are two ways to fix this.
Option 1: Add The Page Through Facebook Business Integrations

Open Business Integrations in Facebook.
Find Statusbrew and click View and edit.
Enable all permissions for the Page you want to add.
Click Save.
Then in Statusbrew, go to Settings → Profiles → Add Profile → Facebook → Add Facebook Page. The Page will now appear under Available Profiles.
Option 2: Add The Page Directly From Statusbrew

Go to Settings → Profiles.
Click Add Profile → Facebook → Add Facebook Page.
In the Facebook dialog, click Edit previous settings.
Select the Pages you want to add and click Connect.
Review Statusbrew's access request, click Save, then Got it.
Back in Statusbrew, find the Page under Available Profiles, check the box next to it, and click Add.
Both options do the same thing. Use Option 1 to manage permissions in Facebook directly, or Option 2 to stay inside Statusbrew.
Connecting Instagram Through Your Facebook Page
Instagram Business accounts connect to Statusbrew through a Facebook Page. Once your Facebook access and permissions are correct, your Instagram account should appear in the connection flow as well. If it still doesn't, see Troubleshooting Instagram Account Connection.
Still Having Trouble?
If you've met the requirements above and still can't connect, try these:
Log out of both Facebook and Statusbrew, clear your browser cache and cookies, then log back in and try again.
If nothing happens when you click to add a Page (no pop-up or redirect), your browser is likely blocking the pop-up. Allow pop-ups for Statusbrew and try again.
Facebook Groups can't be connected. Statusbrew does not support integration with Facebook Groups.
FAQs
Do I Need Full Access To Connect A Facebook Page?
Yes. Statusbrew needs Full access to the Page you're connecting.
What If My Client Won't Give Me Full Access To Their Page?
You don't need their access at all. Send them a shared link instead. The client connects their own Page through a secure link, and the profile appears in your account, with no login or access details shared.
Is Being A Facebook Page Admin The Same As Full Access?
Facebook no longer uses the old Admin and Editor role names. What used to be Admin is now Full access, and that's the level you need to connect a Page to Statusbrew.
Why Can't I See My Facebook Page Even Though My Access Is Correct?
This usually happens when the Page was added after you first authorized Statusbrew, so Facebook skipped it. Fix it using Option 1 or Option 2 above.
My Facebook Page Shows Up, But My Instagram Account Doesn't. Why?
Instagram connects to Statusbrew through your Facebook Page. If the Page connects but Instagram doesn't, your Instagram Business account may not be linked to the correct Page, or it may still be a Personal profile. See Troubleshooting Instagram Account Connection.
Can I Connect A Facebook Group To Statusbrew?
No. Statusbrew supports Facebook Pages, not Facebook Groups.
Nothing Happens When I Click To Add A Profile. What Should I Do?
Your browser is most likely blocking the pop-up for the connection. Allow pop-ups for Statusbrew, or clear your cache and cookies, then try again.
I'm Getting An "Error Validating Access Token." What Does It Mean?
It means Facebook has flagged or invalidated your access token, often after a password change or a security flag.
Do I Need A Specific Plan To Connect A Facebook Page?
No. Connecting a Facebook Page isn't limited by your plan. You can connect a Page on any plan, as long as you have an available profile slot.
Who On My Team Can Connect A Facebook Page?
Adding a profile in Statusbrew requires Admin access or higher.
