How To Edit Stories In Statusbrew?

You can edit a scheduled or draft Facebook or Instagram story in Statusbrew any time before it goes live. Open the story in Publish, then change it in the Create Story composer or make quick edits right in the Post Detail view.

A story scheduled for several profiles is saved as one separate story per profile, so you edit each one on its own. You can't change a story's profile while editing it.

Who Can Do This?

• Full Publishing: users with Full Publishing access on a profile can edit, reschedule and publish that profile's stories.

• Create Post (Needs Approval): users with Create Post access can edit stories, but must send them for approval.

• Admins: space Admins and Owners can edit stories.

• Plans: Approval Workflows are available on Premium and above plans.

How To Edit A Story?

1. Go to Publish and find the story in the calendar or in Drafts. Click it to open the Post Detail view.

2. Click Edit (pencil) at the top of the Post Detail view. The Create Story composer opens for that one story.

3. Change the media, Publishing Type, Internal title, tags, watchers, colour or Approval. The profile shows as a fixed pill and can't be changed.

4. Click Schedule to save the story for a new or the same time, or Post now to publish it right away.

A story needs media. You can't save a story after removing all of its media, so add a new photo or video before you save.

Quick Edit Options

For small changes, you don't have to open the Create Story composer. The Post Detail view lets you change these details directly:

• Post title: click the title and type. Changes save automatically when you click outside the field.

• Scheduled At: click the date and time next to Scheduled At. In the Select schedule type dialog, pick Immediately or Custom Time and click Apply.

• Tags: click Add tags, search or select tags and click Update. To remove a tag, click next to it. Learn more about internal tags.

• Custom fields: click the field you want to update. Custom fields are available on Premium and Enterprise plans. Learn more about custom fields.

• Shared with: click Shared with to change who can access the story. Only the user who created the story can change this. Learn how to restrict post access.

• Watchers: hover over to see the story's watchers. Click it to open Add watchers, add or remove people and click Update. Learn more about watchers in Publish.

• Recall post: on a scheduled story, click the Recall post icon at the top. The story moves to Recalled and won't publish. Edit it, then reschedule it or send it for approval again when it's ready.

Click More (three dots) at the top of the Post Detail view for more actions:

• Send now: publishes the story right away.

• Share post: copies a direct link to the story, so you can share it with your team.

• Duplicate post: opens the Create Story composer with the same content, so you can schedule a similar story without starting over.

• Delete post: removes the story from your calendar and publishing queue. You can't undo this.

Edit A Story Draft

1. Open the draft from Publish → Drafts and click Edit (pencil).

2. Make your changes and click Save as draft in the bottom bar to keep it as a draft.

3. To take it out of draft, click Remove as draft at the top, then click Schedule or Post now.

Edit A Published Story

You can't edit a post in Statusbrew once it's published, and stories work the same way. To change a live story, manage it in the Facebook or Instagram app.

Can I Edit A Story I Scheduled For Several Profiles At Once?

No. Statusbrew saves a story for several profiles as one separate story per profile, not as a Post Group. Open each story in Publish and edit it on its own.

Can I Change The Profile Of A Scheduled Story?

No. The profile is fixed once the story is saved. Create a new story for the other profile, and delete the old one if you no longer need it.

Can I Reschedule A Story Without Opening The Composer?

Yes. Open the story in Publish and click the date and time next to Scheduled At. Pick a new time in the Select schedule type dialog and click Apply.

How Do I Stop A Scheduled Story From Publishing?

Open the story and click the Recall post icon at the top of the Post Detail view. The story moves to Recalled and won't publish until you schedule it again. To remove it for good, click More (three dots) → Delete post.

Can I Reuse A Story For Another Day?

Yes. Open the story, click More (three dots) → Duplicate post, set a new time and click Schedule.

Why Can't I Save My Edited Story?

A story must have media. If you removed the photo or video, add a new one, then click Schedule or Post now.
