How To Edit A Post?

You can change a scheduled or draft post in Statusbrew any time before it publishes. A post you create in Compose for two or more profiles is saved as a Post Group, so you can edit the whole Group at once or change one post on its own. A post for one profile, or each post you save with Separate posts, is a normal post.

Who Can Do This?

Full Publishing: users with Full Publishing access on a profile can edit and reschedule that profile's posts.
Create Post (Needs Approval): users with Create Post access create posts that go through approval before they publish.
Admins: space Admins and Owners can edit posts.
Guests and external approvers: they can't edit posts. They can use Suggest edits on a post that is awaiting approval.
Plans: editing posts and Post Groups is available on all plans. Approval Workflows are available on Premium and above plans.

Edit Every Post In A Group

Use Edit group when you want one change to reach every post, such as a new caption, new media or a new time for all profiles.

Go to Publish and click any post in the Group. The Post Detail view opens with a Part of "Group name" banner.
Click Edit group instead in the banner. You can also click View group and then Edit group in the Group header.
Compose opens, titled Edit "Group name", with every profile in the Group. Change the content in the Global tab to update every profile that isn't customised, or open a profile's tab to change only that profile.
Add or remove profiles, or change their times. The schedule dialog keeps each profile's own times. A new profile needs a time, and its post joins the same Group.
Click the main button in the bottom bar to save. It keeps the Group's current state, for example Schedule or Send for approval.

If a profile has several scheduled times in the Group, changing one of those times replaces that post. Its comments, Activity and approval don't carry over. Compose shows a note under the time when this applies.

Edit One Post In A Group

Use Edit post when only one profile's post needs to change.

Go to Publish and click the post. The Post Detail view opens. The Group banner reads: "Changes to this post stay in the group. If a change would take it out of the group, you'll be asked first."
Click Edit post. In the Group sidebar, you can also click More (three dots) next to the post and select Edit.
Make your changes in Compose and click the main button in the bottom bar to save.

Editing one post's caption, media or network options keeps it in its Group. A change that would take the post out of its Group, such as moving its scheduled time on its own, asks first with Remove from "Group name"?. Click Cancel to keep the post in the Group, or Save changes to save it as a standalone post.

You can't add a post back to a Group once it leaves. To change one post and keep it in the Group, use Edit group and make the change in that profile's tab.

You can't change the profile while editing a single post. To add or remove profiles in a Group, use Edit group: its profile field has a dropdown with your full profile list. A post saved with Separate posts, or any post for one profile, can't have profiles added later. Its profile field is locked, so create a new post to share the same content on more profiles.

Edit Tags, Visibility And Custom Fields

Some details belong to the whole Group. Change them on any post, or in the Group sidebar under Details, and every post in the Group gets the change. The post stays in its Group.

Shared by the Group: tags, visibility (Share access with) and custom fields.
Set per post: watchers. Adding or removing a watcher keeps the post in its Group.

Quick Edit Options

If you need to make minor adjustments, you don't have to open the full Compose window. Statusbrew offers Quick Edit options right within the Post Detail view.

Here are the details you can quickly edit from the Post Detail view without opening the full Compose window:

Post title: click the current post title and make changes. Changes save automatically when you click outside the field. In a Group, the title is the Group name, so renaming it renames the Group for every post.
Scheduled date and time: click the date and time next to Scheduled At. In the Select schedule type dialog, pick Immediately or Custom Time and click Apply. If the post is in a Group, Statusbrew asks Remove from "Group name"? first, because a time of its own takes the post out of the Group.
Tags: click Add tags, search or select tags and click Update. To remove a tag, click next to it. Tag changes apply to every post in the Group.
Custom fields: click the field you want to update. Changes apply to every post in the Group.
Caption: click the caption text, make your changes and click to save, or to discard.
Shared with: click Shared with to change who can access the post. Only the user who created the post can change this, and the change applies to every post in the Group.

Edit A Published Post

Statusbrew doesn't support editing the content of a post once it's been published. If you need to make changes, edit the post directly on the native platform.

To get there quickly, open the post's Post Detail view and click View external. It opens the published post on the social network.

Once every post in a Group is published, the Group shows Published and becomes read-only.

FAQs

Can I Edit All The Posts I Scheduled To Different Profiles At Once?

Yes. Open any post in the Group and click Edit group instead, or click Edit group in the Group header. Changes in the Global tab update every profile that isn't customised.

Can I Edit A Draft For All Selected Profiles At Once?

Yes, if you saved it as a Post Group. A draft for two or more profiles is a Post Group unless you picked Separate posts in Compose. Go to Publish → Drafts, click the draft and click Edit group (pencil) in the Group sidebar. Compose opens with a DRAFT badge, and your changes reach every post.

Why Did My Post Leave Its Group After I Edited It?

You made a change that takes a post out of its Group, such as moving its scheduled time on its own, recalling it, sending it now or accepting a suggested edit. Statusbrew asks first with Remove from "Group name"?. Editing the caption, media, network options, tags, visibility, custom fields or watchers keeps the post in its Group.

Can I Add A Post Back To Its Group?

No. Once a post leaves a Group, it stays a standalone post with its own approval, comments and Activity.

Can I Add Or Remove Profiles While Editing?

Yes, for a Post Group, with Edit group. A new profile needs a time, and its post joins the same Group. Edit post doesn't let you change the profile. A post saved with Separate posts, or a post for one profile, can't have profiles added later, so create a new post instead.

How Long Until I Can Edit A Post?

Our platform allows to edit a post up to 15 minutes before the scheduled time.

Why Can't I Edit A Post?

Permissions: you don't have publishing access on that profile. Ask the Admin or Owner of your space to give you access.
Published Group: every post in the Group has published, so the Group is read-only.
Too close to publishing: the post is scheduled less than 15 minutes from now.

Is A Post For One Profile Also A Post Group?

No. A post for one profile is saved as a normal post, so its Post Detail has no Part of "Group name" banner and edits never show a Group prompt. A post for two or more profiles is a Post Group, unless you pick Separate posts in the top bar of Compose. Then each profile gets its own normal post.
