Schedule First Comments on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, LinkedIn, & TikTok
By adding the first comment to your post, you keep your captions short and engaging while also maximizing reach. You can tag other accounts and relevant hashtags or any links.
Posting the first comment is useful if you want to add hashtags, extra context to the post, or a call-to-action without cluttering your main caption.
First Comment is available through Statusbrew on the web and mobile apps.
Adding a first comment is not compatible with the following post types: Instagram Stories & Facebook Stories.
In Statusbrew, you can add a first comment for the following platforms:
Facebook

After you add the first comment, it will be published with your post at the scheduled time.

You can even cross-post your first comment to multiple supported profiles and customize it per network.
Benefits of Adding a First Comment
Organize Hashtags More Cleanly: Keep your captions focused and clutter-free by moving hashtags to the first comment.
Extend Captions Beyond Limits: Use the first comment to continue your caption when you exceed character limits. End your caption with “continued in the comments” or share details such as “link in first comment.”
Drive More Engagement: Encourage engagement with your audience by asking questions, tagging collaborators, or prompting discussion in the first comment to increase visibility and participation.
First Comment Limitations
The first comment can include any text, links, mentions, or hashtags within the following limits:
Instagram:
Instagram First Comment is only available for Instagram business and creator profiles
Max 2,200 Characters
Max 10 mentions
Max 30 hashtags (including hashtags in the post caption). So if you’ve already added 20 hashtags to your post caption, you can add 10 more to your first comment.
Links in captions and comments are not clickable. You can use BrewLink in Bio to share links
If your scheduled Instagram first comment isn't posted, it's likely flagged as spam. Review Instagram's Community Guidelines to ensure your comments comply with their rules.
Facebook:
Max 8,000 Characters
Threads:
Max 500 Characters
TikTok:
Max 150 Characters
YouTube:
Max 10,000 Characters

If you are cross-posting first comment across multiple profiles, it is important to pay attention to the character count limit for each one of them.
Creative Ways To Use The First Comment

Share Contests and Giveaways Additional Information: Use the first comment to outline participation rules, eligibility, or disclaimers without overwhelming your main caption.
Add Calls to Action: Prompt users to visit a website, register for an event, or subscribe, without interrupting your caption.
