List Of Audience Metrics

Audience metrics are data points that help measure and analyze audience behavior, growth, and engagement on social media platforms.

These metrics are important for understanding and improving audience reach, retention, and interaction.

Followers

The total number of users following your profiles at the end of the selected time period. This represents your audience size at that point in time.

UTC ( )

Actual Growth

The net change in followers, calculated as new followers minus unfollows.

Followers Gained

The total number of users who started following your profiles. Note: For LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Bluesky and Threads, this number can be negative. These platforms don’t provide the exact count of new followers, only the net follower change (actual growth), which factors in both new followers and unfollows.

Unfollowers

The total number of users who unfollowed your profiles.

Profile Likes (Total)

The total number of likes received across all your content over their lifetime. Similar to the followers metric, this represents the cumulative number of likes your profile has gained.

FAQs

Can I see what my follower count was on a specific past date, like the start of the year?

For most networks, the total Followers count is only available as a live value today. Statusbrew can't show you what your follower count was on a specific past date for Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, TikTok, or Google Business Profile.

Facebook is the only exception: historical daily follower values are backfilled, so you can set your report date range back to January 1 and see the count for that period (within the backfill window).

For all other networks, the closest alternative is the Followers Gained metric, which is backfilled per day and shows how your audience grew over time, even if it can't show the total count at a specific point in the past.

Can I see audience demographics such as age, gender, and location in Statusbrew Reports?

It depends on the network. Here's what's available when building widgets with follower metrics:

  • Instagram: City, Country, Gender, Age

  • LinkedIn: Country, Industry, Seniority, Job Function, Staff Count Range

  • TikTok: Country, Gender

  • YouTube: Country is available only for the Subscribers Gained and Subscribers Lost metrics, not for the total subscriber count.

  • Facebook: City, Country only. Meta removed age and gender breakdowns for Facebook followers as part of their API deprecation, and they are no longer available in Statusbrew or any third-party tool.

  • X (Twitter): No audience demographic dimensions available.

To use these, go to Reports, open or create a report, add a widget, select a follower metric for your network, then choose a demographic dimension to break the data down by.

Can I see the most active time or day for my followers in Statusbrew?

Yes, but this is currently supported only for Instagram and TikTok, based on the APIs available from those networks.

Use these metrics:

  • Instagram: Online Followers

  • TikTok: Followers Online

Then choose:

  • Day of Week or Hour of Day as the dimension

  • Heatmap as the visualization

This helps you identify when your followers are most active or online.

At the moment, this type of follower activity data is not available for all networks because not every platform provides it via its API.
