Set Statusbrew As Primary Messenger Receiver
If you're using Statusbrew in parallel with another automation or engagement platform, you might run into scenarios where you would not be able to respond to certain Facebook Messages in Statusbrew.
What to do - if you want to use Statusbrew to reply to these messages?
If you wish to handle all messages through Statusbrew, you would need to make Statusbrew the primary receiver in your Facebook page's messaging settings. This would allow you to reply to all Facebook messages in Statusbrew.
Switch to the page by clicking on your profile picture at the top right corner of your Facebook feed
Click Settings & privacy from the drop-down menu
Select Settings
Navigate to the Page Setup > Messenger conversation routing
Click on Set up > Get Started > Continue
Select Statusbrew and Continue
Navigate to the Page Setup > Advanced messaging
Click Edit next to Statusbrew
Turn on Take control of conversations for both Messenger & Instagram
Click Save.

Note: Only a user with Full access to a Facebook page will be able to take step 9.
The other platform may not function correctly if Statusbrew is set as the primary receiver.
What to do - if you want to use both the apps?
If you wish to use both apps together to manage your messages, we need to set up an event to hand over the conversation to Statusbrew when the other platform (i.e., Handover) hands it over. Get in touch with our support team, and we can discuss and help you configure it.
FAQs
Why Am I Getting a "Not the Thread Owner" Error When Replying?
This error appears when another platform (such as ManyChat or a similar automation tool) is set as the primary receiver for your Facebook messages, not Statusbrew. Facebook's Handover Protocol assigns one app as the primary thread owner, and only that app can send messages into the thread.
To resolve this, set Statusbrew as the primary receiver using the steps above.
Why Do Some Messages Fail Even When Others Go Through Fine?
If only some messages are failing, it likely means your connected profiles are split across two platforms. Some threads were initiated or claimed by the other app, and others were not. Setting Statusbrew as the primary receiver using the steps above ensures all incoming threads are routed to Statusbrew.
Does This Affect Macros or Replies With Links and Images?
Yes. The thread ownership restriction applies to all reply types: text, macros, links, and images. If Statusbrew is not the thread owner, no reply will go through regardless of content.
