PDF Report Views - Stack Vs Grid

When exporting reports as PDFs, you can choose between two layout options: Stack View and Grid View. Each layout serves different purposes depending on how you plan to share or use the report.

The main difference between the two views is the layout of each widget.

Stack View

  • Displays one widget per page, making it ideal for printing or detailed sharing.

  • The vertical layout places widgets one by one from the top down.

  • Widgets are shown using the full width of the PDF page, offering better readability.

  • Tabular widgets can stretch across multiple pages if needed, ensuring data isn’t cut off.

  • Recommended for reports where clarity and space are important—especially when presenting to stakeholders or clients.

Grid View

  • Uses a 4x3 grid layout per page—allowing up to 12 widgets to appear on a single page.

  • Layout closely resembles how the widgets are shown in the actual report dashboard.

  • Best suited for a quick overview of many widgets in a compact format.

  • Note: Grid View is experimental and page breaks may not render cleanly in some cases.

Please note that because grid view places multiple widgets on one page, some widget types (especially graphs) may span across multiple pages.

Tip: Choose Stack View if you need print-ready, high-clarity output. Use Grid View if you prefer a compressed layout that closely mirrors the on-screen report display.
