Account Security Checklist
At Statusbrew, we take security seriously and offer several security and privacy features to help you protect your account.
Use this checklist to make sure your account is secure:
Strong Password Standards
Strong passwords are your first line of defense against security breaches. To keep your account safe, follow these recommendations when setting up your account password:
Create a passphrase that’s at least 8 characters long for stronger protection.
Avoid reusing passwords across different platforms. Each account should have its own unique password.
Use a password vault or manager to securely store and generate strong, unique passwords.
Change your password immediately if you suspect it has been compromised or disclosed.
Two-factor Authentication (2FA)
A two-factor authentication method requires a user to provide more than just a password to log in. For Statusbrew, enabling two-factor authentication requires a user to enter an additional verification code generated by an authenticator app, like Google Authenticator, upon login.
For a higher level of security, we recommend that all users enable two-factor authentication, as it provides significant protection against phishing attacks.
You can find the instructions for enabling two-factor authentication in this article.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
Statusbrew offers SAML 2.0 Single Sign-on (SSO) support across mobile and web.
The biggest advantage of implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) is that authentication policies are centrally managed and tied to your organization’s identity provider. This means if a user’s role, access, or employment status changes, administrators can disable all associated accounts quickly, without needing to update each tool individually.
For employees, SSO also creates a seamless login experience by allowing them to use their existing corporate credentials (email) instead of remembering multiple passwords.
Instructions on configuring SSO on your Statusbrew account are in this article.
User Permissions
Statusbrew offers several access permissions to manage and control users’ access to the platform. By setting user permissions, you can configure which users have owner-level rights and which product features each user can access—an important step in ensuring the security of your account.
When assigning user access permissions, we recommend following the Principle of Least Privilege to give users only the access they need to perform their job duties.
Team Activity Logs
The Team Activity Logs in Statusbrew provide a centralized record of all actions performed by users within your space. Logs are updated in real time, so you can always see who performed what action and when, including details like timestamps and IP addresses.
