Search Keywords (listening) Limit in Statusbrew

Understand how many keyword searches and conversations you get per plan, and what limits apply on each network.

Who Can Use Social Listening?

Social listening is available on Premium and higher plans. Only Primary Owners, Owners, and Admins can create and manage Brand Keyword searches.

Regular Users can be assigned to a specific Brand Keyword search for internal collaboration tasks such as applying tags, adding notes, assigning conversations, marking priority, and sending to an inbox.

A Brand Keyword search monitors a specific keyword, hashtag, or query on a network. Each search collects matching conversations into a dedicated inbox in Engage.

Tracking your brand name on Reddit and a competitor's name on X each count as a separate search against your plan limit.

Supported Networks and Keyword Limits

Statusbrew supports listening on 5 social networks and 1 web source. Each network has its own keyword limits, some set by Statusbrew, others enforced by the network's API.

X (Twitter)

X listening matches posts against a keyword query you define per inbox. You can add multiple keywords to a single inbox using AND, OR, and NOT operators.

There is no fixed keyword count limit per inbox. Your total query must stay within 512 characters per inbox. Statusbrew does not show a character counter in the UI, so keep an eye on query length when building complex searches.

To check if your query is working, paste it directly into X search and review the results. For details on X's search limits, see X API Rate Limits.

Instagram

Instagram listening tracks public posts tagged with a specific hashtag. Each Instagram Brand Keyword inbox monitors one hashtag.

Instagram's API enforces a hard limit of 30 unique hashtags per Business or Creator account within any rolling 7-day period. This limit applies across all your inboxes combined and is set by Meta, not Statusbrew. See Instagram's recently searched hashtags API docs for details.

Reddit

Reddit listens to posts and discussions across all public subreddits that match your keyword query. You can add multiple keywords per inbox using AND, OR, and NOT operators.

There is no keyword count limit or character limit enforced on Reddit queries. The API is rate-based, not keyword-count-based. See the Reddit API documentation for details.

Statusbrew automatically retrieves up to 1 month and 300 posts of historical Reddit data when a new inbox is created.

Threads

Threads listening searches public posts for your specified keyword or topic. You can enter a keyword phrase per inbox.

There is no keyword count limit per inbox. Meta's Threads API allows up to 2,200 search queries per user per rolling 24-hour period. Statusbrew manages this on the backend. See the Threads API documentation for details.

YouTube

YouTube listening monitors video titles, descriptions, and comments for your specified keywords. You can add multiple keywords per inbox.

There is no keyword count limit per inbox. YouTube's API is quota-based on Google's end. Statusbrew manages this on the backend. See YouTube Data API quota documentation for details.

Web (Blogs and News)

Web listening monitors over 80,000 news outlets and blogs across 50+ countries in multiple languages, covering major global publications down to niche industry blogs and local news sites.

There is no keyword count limit. You can use AND, OR, NOT, and other operators to build your query. Keep queries focused rather than overly broad to get the most relevant results.

Though some networks have no hard keyword search limits, we still recommend using operators to keep the query focused and short to get quality results.

What Happens After?

Deleting a search: Deleting a keyword search frees up one slot against your plan limit. Conversations collected before deletion remain accessible until they're manually cleared.

Hitting your conversation limit: Statusbrew stops collecting new conversations for that billing cycle. Existing conversations in your inboxes are unaffected. Your limit resets at the start of the next billing cycle, or you can purchase an add-on pack to continue collecting immediately.

Adding an add-on mid-cycle: Add-on packs take effect immediately and apply to the current billing cycle. The additional conversations and search slots are available right away.

FAQs

What counts as a conversation towards my monthly limit?

Any post or article that matches your keyword query and is pulled into a search inbox counts as one conversation. The limit applies across all your topic inboxes combined, not per topic.

What happens when I reach my conversation limit?

Statusbrew stops collecting new conversations for that month. Your limit resets at the next billing cycle. You can also buy an add-on pack for $50 to get 2 additional searches and 1,000 more conversations immediately.

Can I use one topic across multiple networks?

Monitoring the same keyword on both Reddit and YouTube counts as two separate searches against your plan limit.

Can I monitor the same hashtag on Instagram across multiple inboxes?

Yes, but each unique hashtag you query counts against Instagram's 30 hashtags per 7-day limit, regardless of how many inboxes it appears in. Your plan's keyword search and conversation limits also apply.

Do unused conversations roll over to the next month?

No. The monthly conversation allowance resets at the start of each billing cycle. Unused conversations do not carry forward.

Can I purchase multiple add-on packs?

Yes. Add-on packs are stackable. If you need 6 additional searches and 3,000 more conversations, you can purchase them.

Why am I not seeing results for my X keyword search?

Your query may be too complex. X can limit searches that combine too many keywords and operators. Try simplifying your query or splitting it across multiple inboxes. Paste your full query into X search to test whether it returns results.

Is there a limit to how many keywords I can add per inbox?

For Reddit, Threads, YouTube, and Web, there is no enforced keyword count limit. You can add as many keywords as needed using search operators.

For X (Twitter), the practical limit is 512 characters total per query. There is no limit on the number of counts, but long queries will hit this character limit.

For Instagram, each inbox monitors exactly one hashtag.

You cannot edit an existing search. You need to either create a new search or delete the existing one. Deleting a search frees up one slot against your plan limit.
