Instagram is in a frenzy of adding new features almost every other week.
But the social media giant is now testing removing the 'Add Post To Your Story' option. This change will restrict users from sharing feed posts within their Stories.
Instagram announced the change in a notification banner that was sent to limited users in "select countries" where the test is being conducted.
Social media veteran Matt Navara immediately posted about it on Twitter. And as expected, Twitter blew up. Users were quick to share their opinions about their potential inability to double-serve feed posts on their Stories.

Sharing posts is how many creators, businesses & organizations get in front of users due to Instagram's algorithm.
But Instagram's argument is that users want to see fewer feed posts in their Story. The logic is that if you're following an account, you're seeing their Stories and their regular posts in your feed anyway.
This change would result in less self-promotion.
You can still share IGTV previews and even Tweets (surprisingly) in your Stories but not feed posts.
And Instagram has stressed that this is a limited test, and there is currently no plan to roll out the change to its wider community.
We'll have to wait and watch Instagram's experiment and whether it's rolled out to all users or not. Meanwhile, let us know your take on this update.
