Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri has revealed that that company will be launching multi-participant IG Live video chats in the next few weeks.
Adam Mosseri made an appearance on the show "A little late With Lily Singh" and showcased the new feature.
As explained by Mosseri:
"We have been working on live groups & We're releasing the ability to go live with more than one other person, so with up to four other people, in the next couple of weeks, which we're excited about."
This feature isn't exactly all-new since Instagram did test out this feature in December last year in India. The live-streaming is on the rise in the country, and Instagram Live views grew by over 60% in India throughout 2020.
Having the option to include more people to your Live chats would help maximize the engagement.
Coming soon to Instagram:

Ever since the pandemic, Live-streaming has seen a significant rise since people sought ways to stay connected while being restricted to their homes.
This feature has been a long time coming, but now finally, it will be making its way, giving you another way to broadcast and connect with your audience.
Having the option to add multiple participants in your Instagram live video chat opens up a range of possibilities. You can host interviews, live Q & A sessions with customers, share the stage with Influencers, etc.
There's no definitive date for the launch yet, but we expect an announcement from Instagram soon.
